One One Cacao’s 68% and 71% bars from the Mahogany Hall Estate won Silver and Bronze in the Tree to Bar Category alongside major international producers from Madagascar, Colombia and Vietnam at the Academy of Chocolate Award in London. The Academy of Chocolate Award is one of only two international competitions for chocolate makers and saw over 500 entries from 35 countries.
One/One Cacao has always bought locally. As a two ingredient chocolate maker they need only cocoa and sugar, products that Jamaica has in abundance. Many people worry about the production level of cocoa in Jamaica but they support farmers by direct trade and customers through 100 trace-ability.
Getting the ingredients right, working on their recipes was key before growth, they’re now out of the startup phase and have seen growth in revenue linked to their award wins in international markets and locally.
